Karin is a proven creative leader and branding expert with 17 years of experience. 

She currently leads the in-house design team at The Metropolitan Opera. As Design Director, Karin oversees and creates the concepts and designs of all print and digital materials to promote the 26+ operas every season. In addition, she reorganized the design team to create an in-house agency, the Met Opera Studio, and implemented a digital project management system.

During her ten year tenure at The O Group, she was promoted from Senior Art Director to Design Director and lead the design and execution of digital and print collateral. Karin worked closely with the EVP Creative and Director of Strategy on positioning, naming and big picture thinking. She was responsible for on-set art direction of still, model and video shoots. In addition, she recruited and hired both full-time and freelance designers. 

Karin also volunteered her time as AIGA/NY Mentoring Program Co-Coordinator. She was responsible for overseeing 40 pairs and providing programming and support throughout the school year. During her tenure, the program partnered with Debbie Millman, Etsy, Makerbot, Triboro Design and The Green Patriot Poster Project.

Prior to joining The O Group, Karin worked at a variety of agencies including Art Director at DMA United, Freelance Designer at Carbone Smolan and Designer at Design Machine. She was also part of the founding team at BigShot Magazine and created the branding and publication look and feel. Karin received her BS from Penn State University. 

Her work has been recognized by The Dieline, Rebrand Showcase, Creative Quarterly and Graphis. She was also named a Young Gun by The Art Directors Club of New York.
